"When a serious problem emerged, no one at Hotel Histórico took responsibility. No hotel management available. There is no visible sign on the street to indicate that this is a hotel. Stay at your own risk! "

"I've been travelling in hostals since 35 years. I have never seen so dirty rooms. The place is great, but I felt really not comfortable, and I moved out from hostal as soon as I was able to do. The patio is great, the peole nice, but the rooms have to be redone totally. It's definitly awfull. And I'm not talking about the bathrooms."

"Lovely place, pretty calm, right in front of the Petén Itzá Lake, where you can take a swim. "

"It was great in the begining, they offer unlimited coffee (bad quality but unlimited). And they are very friendly. When paying time came, they took almost twice the price of my reservation and they didn't even give me any receipt. "

"So close to everything, they clean and tidy all day, secure, rooms are very clean but must say quite tiny - the rooftop kitchen and dining space make up for this such a lovely space, looked after our bags while went up the volcano. "
