"Repeat customer. Third time back in his hotel but this time was a disappointment. I booked and paid on 27 DEC. Arrived at the hotel on 31 JAN receptionist said cannot find my booking because was booked last minute?? Wasted 20-25 mins and another receptionist-Mariyam or Mariah sorted out a room for me."

"Generally ok, staff were hospitable and helpful. But, the manager Mrs Rinie was unfriendly as she was harassing my sister who stayed in another room about the extended hour that we requested and threatening her. Totally unacceptable hospitality to hold such a position! The 2 Deluxe Double rooms that I booked didn’t have any windows. The Aircon didn’t work so it was fixed in situ when I was in the room. "The hotel is a bit old. The location is a bit off the center of George Town but still walkable if you don't mind. The swimming pool is on the small side. The rooftop restaurant is great. You can see the whole Geroge Town almost. There is a big night food court right next to the hotel where you can get all kinds of food for dinner. "

"This was the second time we stayed at the Ascott within a month. We were in Penang for over three weeks to celebrate the Chinese New Year with our family in Penang. We decided to stay here again on the same trip. We like the amenities offered by Ascott such as the in-room washer and dryer, spacious room layout and excellent staff service. We walked to Gurney Plaza shopping mall and avoided the headaches of finding parking in the crowded shopping mall garage. This is a great hotel and we will certainly stay here again in the future."
