I can’t speak highly enough of the shangri la . I would give it 10 stars if I could . The rooms are lovely , very spacious, bed was a bit hard for me though! The staff are marvellous. The resort is just stunning . Food options are good . Just loved our holiday .

Lovely hotel in great location The hotel is ready for a refresh of the decor and furnishings, looking a little bit tired and dated in places. Staff are welcoming and helpful. This is a beautiful hotel and grounds, breakfast is the best EVER, pool was great/warm. Despite having a lot of guests there, it didn't feel overly crowded. It's also walkable to the little market area, which was nice, and pretty close/fast to the Penang National Park, which was nice. Definitely quite a haul to Georgetown with traffic - in the 45 mins range minimum/1 hr to the airport which seems far in a small area. We loved it though and are glad we stayed here - just don't think (as I did) that you can pop back and forth to Georgetown easily.
