"A lovely and atmospheric property. We were upgraded to a large room with a terrace and a sea view which was appreciated.The room was extremely comfortable with a complimentary mini bar. We loved the roof terrace with its great view over the fort and the sea. Although there is no pool, a small, safe beach is just steps away with beach towels provided by the hotel."

"Excellent property in all respects but tucked on a promontory down a cul de sac which is currently under repair requiring a detour through an office car park which detracts from the sense of arrival. Not however in control of the hotel and will probably be fixed soon."

"The Fort House is an amazing 17c building sympathetically renovated and centrally locatedwithin the fort . The staff were lovely and always attentive. For the first time during our trip we had traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts . Interesting, educational and tasty. The room was comfortable with a four poster bed and an ensuite bathroom. We highly recommend The Fort House."
