"We stayed at Papaya Moon for two weeks at the beginning of March 2025 in the “Place in the Sun” suite. Simply paradise. The mountaintop views and breezes are heavenly. It is a very private location, surrounded by Sue’s beautiful gardens and the natural beauty of the island. You have your option of lots of outdoor activities – swimming, kayaking, snorkeling in turquoise waters; hiking the many trails that range from challenging to easy-going strolls. Or you can relax on the deck and gaze at sea and sky every time you look up from your book. We’d call Coral Bay the quiet side of the island, in contrast to the busier beaches closer to Cruz Bay. Coral Bay has some good places to eat and hear music, and a pottery studio/gallery/gift shop with work by local artists. Ron and Sue are wonderful hosts. It was a pleasure to meet them and learn about their experiences on St. John and obvious devotion to their island community. All the amenities in the description are accurate – clean, well-equipped, wifi, nice little kitchen, etc. We were also able to take a look at the other suite, and it is equally lovely.— Cecilia V. & Carl F. 3/22/2025"

"This property has million-dollar views. They are breathtaking. We were pinching ourselves every time we took in the scenery. The villa itself is comfortable and cozy with all supplies/equip needed for the kitchen, including spices. The bedrooms are beautiful and cozy and the a/c was so nice. It was wonderful to have a washer and dryer. The showers are semi-outdoors; they have 4 walls but the top half above head is open air yet covered with roof. Showers were amazing with the tradewinds blowing in! We made friends with a cute lizard who lives on one of the shower lights:) It was a very quiet location and we loved waking up for magnificent sunrises every morning while listening to the roosters, goats, and donkeys! The pool was perfect and my son loved swimming every evening. The flora and fauna along the driveway and backyard are beautiful and we watched hummingbirds every day. We love the Coral Bay side of the island as it is more laid-back and quiet but just a 15-20 min drive to North Shore beaches and 20-25 to Cruz Bay (beautiful drive too!). As others have said, the road and driveway are a little precarious at first, but do it once and it’s easy! Communication with the hosts was flawless and we were even allowed graciously to check in early, as the previous people had checked out very early. We really appreciated this! We already miss Casa Yaya!"

"We had an amazing stay! The place was well-equipped and thoughtfully furnished. The beach chairs were incredibly comfortable, and there were plenty of coolers and beach towels, which made our beach days so convenient. The beds were super cozy, ensuring a great night's sleep. We also loved spending time on the porch—it was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views of Coral Bay, East End, USVI and Tortola. The host was very responsive and made everything easy for us. We can't wait to come back!"
