"Nice, updated, clean house with great views on a more secluded and quiet part of the island. Sitting on the covered outdoor patio with its views and natural breeze was delightful, so much so that we ate every meal out there. The pool was also a great place to relax (views again), especially after a beach/boating day. An updated kitchen was very helpful as well. Everything worked in the house. Overall, a very relaxing place to stay on St. John’s "

"We stayed at Papaya Moon for two weeks at the beginning of March 2025 in the “Place in the Sun” suite. Simply paradise. The mountaintop views and breezes are heavenly. It is a very private location, surrounded by Sue’s beautiful gardens and the natural beauty of the island. You have your option of lots of outdoor activities – swimming, kayaking, snorkeling in turquoise waters; hiking the many trails that range from challenging to easy-going strolls. Or you can relax on the deck and gaze at sea and sky every time you look up from your book. We’d call Coral Bay the quiet side of the island, in contrast to the busier beaches closer to Cruz Bay. Coral Bay has some good places to eat and hear music, and a pottery studio/gallery/gift shop with work by local artists. Ron and Sue are wonderful hosts. It was a pleasure to meet them and learn about their experiences on St. John and obvious devotion to their island community. All the amenities in the description are accurate – clean, well-equipped, wifi, nice little kitchen, etc. We were also able to take a look at the other suite, and it is equally lovely.— Cecilia V. & Carl F. 3/22/2025"

"This property has million-dollar views. They are breathtaking. We were pinching ourselves every time we took in the scenery. The villa itself is comfortable and cozy with all supplies/equip needed for the kitchen, including spices. The bedrooms are beautiful and cozy and the a/c was so nice. It was wonderful to have a washer and dryer. The showers are semi-outdoors; they have 4 walls but the top half above head is open air yet covered with roof. Showers were amazing with the tradewinds blowing in! We made friends with a cute lizard who lives on one of the shower lights:) It was a very quiet location and we loved waking up for magnificent sunrises every morning while listening to the roosters, goats, and donkeys! The pool was perfect and my son loved swimming every evening. The flora and fauna along the driveway and backyard are beautiful and we watched hummingbirds every day. We love the Coral Bay side of the island as it is more laid-back and quiet but just a 15-20 min drive to North Shore beaches and 20-25 to Cruz Bay (beautiful drive too!). As others have said, the road and driveway are a little precarious at first, but do it once and it’s easy! Communication with the hosts was flawless and we were even allowed graciously to check in early, as the previous people had checked out very early. We really appreciated this! We already miss Casa Yaya!"

"Beautiful property on the laid back island. All 7 in our group were impressed with the villa. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, dishes, & spices. As described a 4 wheeled drive in a must. All enjoyed the fabulous pool"

"10th visit to STJ and Husband and I had a first kid free get away and Salty Kisses was perfect! Great chairs, yeti cooler, comfy bed, plenty of nice towels, well appointed kitchen, great grill, and lovely decor!!!! Peaceful and perfect! Thank you Amanda!! "

"Kim was an outstanding host and very knowledgeable about St John. She checked in on us and answered every question we had almost immediately. The house was great from top to bottom but the best part was the view. Only the bedrooms have a/c so the main house got a little stuffy in the afternoons/evenings since the bedrooms are only accessible from the outside downstairs. The road to the house is a nightmare, not gonna lie, but we got used to it after a couple of days. You definitely need an suv for ground clearance"

"My wife and I chose St John and Bambooshay to celebrate our 60th birthdays that fall only a few weeks apart. We could not be more pleased with the home! The pictures understate the beauty of the home and stunning views. The changing light of the sun during the day brought a beautiful new view of Coral Bay to enjoy every hour. The home is wonderfully equipped with all the little details, kitchen equipment etc to allow us to feel at home immediately. The pool and separate hot tub were used every day and the natural trees, bamboo and shrubs surrounded the home in privacy and added to the secluded, remote experience of Coral Bay we were seeking. We are animal lovers and so the plethora of chickens and goats roaming about was as added bonus. The property manager, Tammy, was super helpful and attentive before, during and after our stay. "We had an amazing stay! The place was well-equipped and thoughtfully furnished. The beach chairs were incredibly comfortable, and there were plenty of coolers and beach towels, which made our beach days so convenient. The beds were super cozy, ensuring a great night's sleep. We also loved spending time on the porch—it was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views of Coral Bay, East End, USVI and Tortola. The host was very responsive and made everything easy for us. We can't wait to come back!"
