New Moon Escape is an affordable family cottage nestled in a private, forested valley in Coral Bay, St John. This home can sleep up to 6. Upstairs has the master bedroom with King Bed and a small adjacent bedroom with 2 twin beds. Downstairs, the Media
Room has a pull out couch with memory foam mattress for easy conversion to a 3rd private bedroom.

Unlike other rentals in this range, the home and pool are completely private on a half acre of tropical gardens and walking paths. Fruit trees and flowing palms lead way to jungle paths that enhancing the magical natural environment. Take a stroll to the forested hammock deck for a nap in the shade or stretch out on the pool deck and soak up the Caribbean Sun!

Peaceful and quiet, this St John Cottage is perfect for couples, honeymooners or families with young children. Full Kitchen, Air Conditioning, High Speed Internet, Media Room, Private Pool and a screened in porch are some of the amenities that make New Moon Escape the perfect choice for your St John Vacation.

Lovely little jungle getaway.
It was a great private and secluded residence where we felt comfortable and safe. I would not recommend this for anyone not comfortable driving a 4 wheel vehicle but then again that's all anyone should be driving on St.John anyway! The pool was refreshing as well.

Nice, clean, private, comfortable house with beautiful grounds in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. Deck and pool are perfect for non-beach chill out days and the screened-in porch is lovely. Cozy quiet comfort!
If you are looking for a safe, quiet neighborhood home at a good price from which to explore the island look no further! New Moon Escape offered my husband and I a comfortable sleep, near a great breakfast joint (Pickles in Paradise), and we swam or snorkeled all over the place. If you want high end this isn't it, but if you want cozy solitude book New Moon Escape!

We really enjoyed our stay at New Moon. Basement was a bit musty smelling and dark, so we didn't go down there to watch tv. But who needs to watch tv in St. John. The property is peaceful with beautiful flowers and tropical trees, that was our favorite part.

New Moon Escape was amazing
My wife and I stayed here for a week. We were the second users since the hurricanes. The location is perfect for great access to all the beaches and hiking trails. The New Moon team was great to work with and we really enjoyed our time in the home. The pool was so nice to have at the end of a hot day. We really enjoyed our time there and will be back!

Very private place. Great pool. Gas grill is a plus. Laundry on site. We visit St John often, and love trying new places. New Moon Escape did not disappoint. All you need too relax and have a pool day, or get out on the beaches. Convenient too stores and restaurants. Our host Jared was just a call or text away. Overall great experience!!!

Happy Holidays
This kind of cottage, off by itself, is perfect for a couple like my husband and myself. We like the quiet and the greenery surrounding the house. The WiFi functions well and the kitchen has what we need. We enjoy the mini-pool for taking a little dip and I love the hammock for lounging and reading. One does need a good Jeep to navigate the short but very rocky, bumpy drive in from the main road, but if you drive slowly it is fine.

Adorable clean secluded cottage
My husband and I had a wonderful stay. Its a very clean, secluded adorable cottage.We would definitely stay again. We are actually looking at our calendars so we can begin booking another stay. We really enjoyed the private pool after a long day of travel or after a day at the beach. The road is bouncy like others had said but we didn’t really have a issue with that once we found it. We did have a 4 wheel drive. The kitchen was well equipped and the ac kept it comfortable. I definitely give this 2 bedroom, 1-12 bath adorable cottage 5 stars.

Casual secluded home surrounded by beauty
Our stay here was fantastic and this is definitely the best value on the island. This is a quaint little cottage but with plenty of room to spread out. Despite the road leading to it, the location offers easy access to Coral Bay restaurants and shopping. The kitchen was well-appointed and the grill seemed brand new. The deck was great at night for star gazing and offers a limited view of the water. The downstairs media room was a little disappointing because it smelled like it had been recently fumigated so our kids just slept in the nook off the main floor. Overall, super solid place to stay and no regrets renting it at all.

Excellent Coral Bay Gem
I highly recommend this property if you’re looking to stay in the Coral Bay side of STJ. It’s a very quiet, secluded property with nice amenities and sleeps 4-5. Great pool and deck as well as a double hammock up on a perch above the main house. Kitchen is a perfect size, and beach amenities are provided for guests. The drive to the house is a little challenging at first, but once you get the route down, it’s easy to get back to. House is located centrally to the Hwy 20 turnoff to the north shore beaches, East End beaches and south shore beaches. The host and property manager were very attentive to visitors’ needs and checked in during the trip. All in all a gem in the best part of STJ!

Hidden Gem
My friend and I stayed for a week at New Moon Escape and had a wonderful time! The cottage is cozy and well-equipped with pretty much everything you need, including beach towels, extra linens, cookware, beach chairs, etc. The pool and deck were lovely and the screened-in porch was a nice place to enjoy our morning coffee. Communication with Jared was excellent and the check-in/check-out process was turnkey. The five-minute drive from the main road to the cottage was quite the adventure, but we thought it was fun. As others have stated, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is pretty much necessary. The cottage is just minutes from several restaurants and two small grocery stores. I highly recommend Dolphin Market - they have fresh produce as well as a nice selection of cheeses, crackers, hummus, etc. Overall, it was an amazing stay at New Moon Escape - highly recommend!

Darling Quiet and Remote Getaway
This was our first time on the island of St. John and we wanted to find a nice quiet place for our accomodations. The pictures listed are a perfect representation of the property and we found our time there to be fantastic. From the moment we arrived on the island our property agents met us at the ferry, we followed them to this secluded location which we HIGHLY recommend because it is off the beaten path. Don't be alarmed by the goats, donkeys, or chickens you will encounter on your way - they pretty much keep to themselves and add to the islands beauty. The cottage itself was incredibly clean and cool - we didn't need to use the A/C once. There are large ceiling fans which were just what you needed to stay cool. If you need anything at all the owners are extremely responsive and very helpful. There are delicious restaurants nearby - you will need a car and definitely a truck. The road to get to the house is hilly and rocky so be prepared for offroading it - it's fun, my husband even let me drive! All in all we highly recommend New Moon Escape and hopefully will get to return one day!

Private clean amazing villa stay!
Overall we had the BEST Vacation! The house is adorable and my teenage daughter loved to have her own mini condo downstairs. Very clean and enjoyable! Having a gate to the house made us feel more secure from the roaming Donkeys that are friendly! Plenty of space and had everything we needed to cook with! Grill was clean and amazing. Pool was a great treat after the day at the beach. The outdoor shower was perfect to get all the sand off! The road to the house is "off roading". Anyone that cant drive off road may have issues. My kids and I didnt mind it. It rained a few days and the roads get slippery. Be ready for a driving adventure...I didnt mind it as we had so much privacy at the house. My only suggestions would be to add more sleeping pillows for comfort. We each had one pillow and would have liked to have two. Also 2 beach chairs were broken and super rusty so we only had 2 to use. The windows wouldn't open in the house. We kept the A/C on when we were there but would have preferred the windows open to enjoy the breeze.

The Island in a nutshell
The property is fine. The road coming in is as others stated. FYI, a taxi will refuse to come in, so you will need to drive a short distance out, if you need that service, as we did to go to a wedding with no parking available. I’m used to staying in places without toilets or electricity so the mouse in the basement running by my feet while on the toilet was no problem. Still 4 stars because it’s super cute and fun, plus things happen. A star was lost when I woke up after sweating and saw rust stains on the sheets. Investigation reveals some period blood, not mine, had wicked up from the mattress pad onto the sheets. Biohazards cost a star in my book. After washing the thick mattress pad and all the bedding after it all fell out of the circle of trust I get why the cleaning person gave up and covered it. It took a day. For the venue, this property is an absolute gem. Just know the coffee pot stays on for the entire day until turned off and the thick crust under the pot is a tribute to humans not accidentally starting a fire—and the toaster won’t stay down, so adapt and overcome while toasting in the oven broiler. Really, this is the perfect place to summarize the entire island. It probably deserves another star for that—and I’m searching on Amazon for that mattress pad, because it was super comfortable.
