"The pools were fantastic. The restaurant was very loud and the food was average. The views were lovely. Overall we wouldn’t stay again due to the restaurant feeling like a big canteen it was relaxing to eat."

"Had a great time, rooms were great with fantastic sea views. Staff were friendly and the food, swimming etc were good. The only feedback I'd provide is the room keys, we had to go to reception daily, to get them unlocked and, no, they weren't near mobile phones. "

"Excellent value - very clean, comfortable and friendly, with all facilities you could need. It is a walk from the main town centre, and the hill is steep, so need to be mobile, or happy to use taxis. But the walk is worth it as the location is peaceful. Reception area and stairs are all stone/marble so noise does travel - especially to ground floor rooms. And walls are thin too, so occasional interrupted sleep. Nothing too dramatic though. "Very good all rounder. Food was not as good for early week and better later in the week for dinner. The doors to the balcony rattle at night, keeping people awake. The staff are great though, very likeable. Good gym but a bit far from the main hotel. Overall, really enjoyed my stay with the beautiful views, old style music and overall great atmosphere. "

"The hotel had a lovely view of the volcano and the mountains, but it was quite a long walk away from high street down a steep hill. It wasn’t a problem to do the walk a couple of times, but definitely not every day. "Die Unterkunft ist aufgrund der Lage und des wunderschönen Ausblickes auf das Meer zu empfehlen, wir hatten ein Apartment mit Meerblick gebucht. Nicht so überzeugt haben die Matratzen im Bett die eine war sehr weich und durchgelegen die andere schon besser und härter. Nach Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Service wurde sofort nachgebessert mit einem Toper, nicht ideal aber für 6 Übernachtungen ausreichend. "Room was tidy. Mattresses are firm. No car parking on site, but only a 5 min walk to a car park. Staff were friendly. Wifi didn’t work at all for 9 nights. When showering, make sure the front power switch is on or the water won’t heat up. The location is perfect. Township right at your door. "

A true Oasis!

"We really enjoyed our stay at Oasis Hill. It is quite remote - could be tricky without a car - but just 10 mins drive from town where you can find nice restaurants and supermarkets. We stayed there for 4 nights and it was the perfect location to explore the North side of the island, from Punto De Teno on the far West to the Anaga Mountains to the East, and just above an hour to El Teide. Our room was perfect with 2 separate bedrooms and the bathroom/shower in between. Clean with a TV in each and everything you need. The hosts were absolutely lovely, we were given a tour of the property when we arrived and enjoyed breakfast prepared for us every morning. They made sure everything was fine. Unfortunately we run out of time to try the pool, but it looked gorgeous. Highly recommend! "

"Overall I would recommend this property! The location and the surrounding views were awesome. The volcano activities and local hiking was great. The restaurant & the included breakfast was wonderful. Had a problem with the Air Conditioning & the windows didn't have screens, so we couldn't open them due to all the flies."

Finca la Chirita - For hikers, starry nights

A garden with a view

"Spent a week at La Chirita for a bird-watching holiday as a couple in our early 60's. The cottage is on the rustic side, but contains everything that you need for a comfortable self-catering holiday. The jewel in the crown is the location amongst the trees, in the foothills of the pinebelt, with a large, private, wild 'garden' full of native plants/flowers, and birds - canaries dominate, but there are also flyby's of both local pigeons, amongst other endemics. The view of El Teide is fantastic, in an ever-changing skyscape, in which it is occasionally obscured. You could just sit there all day. We bought the Crossbill Nature Guide book, which added greatly to our enjoyment and appreciation of the island, as it includes suggested routes both to drive and hike, not just for us birdwatchers. Shopped in local panaderias for packed lunches. All in all, a great week - easy, no problems, everyone very friendly. Thank you for sharing your lovely property."

Beautiful spot

"An amazing house was just the three of us and a perfect size! You are way up the hill so plan for extra time to get down the hill before you go anywhere. Google maps was terrible for getting us back to the house, we used the repsol in palo blanco as our location for home and then just memorized landmarks on the way up after that. Thanks again to Erica for hosting us, wish the weather had been a bit better but we had an amazing time"
