"Had a lovely stay, despite the stormy weather. Service was great.Breakfast was delicious with extra shots of espresso. Only downside was squeaky floors in the hallway. It sounded like some one was walking in the room ."

"Excellent traditional English inn with lots of charm and character. The comfortable, warm room on a freezing January night was most welcome, as were the open log fires in the bar/restaurant. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating and the food was to a very good standard. The Timothy Taylor’s Landlord Bitter was an unexpected bonus !"

"What a find! A beautiful Country House Hotel. Really lovely quadruple room ( which was actually two bedrooms and a bathroom in between). Lots of thoughtful touches. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful. And the staff were a delight- warm and friendly. It was very clean and a fabulous ambience!"

"When we arrived at the Griffin, to our surprise, our reservation was canceled. Apparently, the Griffin had a water leak and were in the process of repairing the damage. They said that an email was sent to us canceling our reservations 2 days prior. We were on a cruise at the time and did not get this email because we had no service while on the cruise. It was a very unfortunate situation. We are from the USA and found out upon arrival in England that our cell phones were not working properly so...

"The hotel looked lovely but unfortunately we didn't get to stay. Turned up to find hotels.com had not passed out booking into hotel so left with nowhere to stay in remote countryside. I'd recommend the eco lodge - staff were lovely but not hotels.com -it took almost a month to get a refund only by going via my bank's anti fraud process."

"Cold draughts from ill-fitting single glaze windows. Heating not on much. Lounge/dining/bar area a bit cool for older folk. The staff were excellent. The cooking good too."

"Enjoyed a lovely, romantic mini break here. Very clean room (no.4 in the garden) great shower pressure, working tv, tea, coffee, hair dryer, iron, easy check-in. Excellent full english cooked breakfast and fruit cereal etc. Although its a pub inn its a very peaceful room because the pub is more of a gastro pub and everyone went home by 10pm so we had an extremely good night sleep. Recommended!"
