"Great access to nearby bus route which was ideal for tourism. The bed was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had all the basics and was very nice. We were greeted via doorbell in a friendly way and given a code for our room upon arrival via text message. "We had an amazing stay from start to finish. Ian gave us a tour if the castle along with a history. The rooms were cozy, the bed was very comfortable. The owners even gave us a ride to the tram when we were unable to find a taxi. Sue and Ian are a friendly helpful couple. "

"The rooms and decor were all simpathetically refurbished in Georgian style. The beds were extremely comfortable and clean. The en-suite I stayed in had a large bath & double shower, the owners were delightful, knowledgeable about things to do around the area. The breakfast was great, various things to eat, they catered for my niece who is celiac, she was delighted to finally stay somewhere and be made to feel part of the company, not an added extra on a special diet! "The cottage is very nice. It is on two levels, the kitchen/dining is down quite a steep staircase that I found difficult to negotiate. I'm nearly 70 and my daughter fast approaching 50, so not spring chickens! If you want to use the sofa as a bed there is a 35 pound charge for linen that isn't made clear when booking. We both slept in the one bed which was fine. Extra charges should be mAde clear on booking and the fact it only has one bedroom was disappointing. Otherwise nice place if somewhat...

"Expedia failed to advise the property of my booking which caused a lot of stress at check-in. That said, the staff was helpful and friendly to still get us a room. Property is on a hill which can make getting there with luggage challenging, but the property itself is easy to find and elevator makes room access easy. Room was clean and a nice place to use as a base to explore Edinburgh. Sink faucet was bit wobbly when used, but otherwise a fantastic stay for the price."

"Lovely hotel and friendly attentive staff. The room was very spacious and very clean. It bit cold at first but the beds were very comfy. Breakfast was really good. The swimming pool and spa were really good and very clean. Overall had a lovely stay. "

"Very easy to check-in. Hotel well placed for the main north/south route. Handy for a short walk into the town. Although next to ASDA , the area was relatively quiet. Restaurant attached offers a good menu, including a choice for breakfast. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. "
