"First off, they changed ownership right before our stay and stopped serving breakfast. In an email, they offered $8 off per day due to this change, but we never received this discount. I even replied to the email after our stay and received no response. Second, I chose this hotel for the historic feel. Unfortunately, the new owners have modernized the furnishings including super firm memory foam beds that hold heat and feel like sleeping on a brick. I will not be staying at this hotel again due...

"Walls are thin and we were woke up by some domestic fighting in middle of night. Pluses are property manager was super helpful with maintenance issues…minuses were the maintenance problem - fridge was broken for our stay. Dryer wouldn’t shut off unless you open the door. The unit had plenty of towels and bed linens. Shower was roomy. Mattress was pretty firm so boyfriend loved and I thought it was too hard. No TV in bedroom and there was stains on carpet in bedroom as well as throw rug in...

"Great stay! Hotel was clean (even through renovations). Loved airport shuttle service, which was hard to find for downtown Birmingham properties. We arrived at 11, with a check in time at 4. They offered to hold our bags since we had to be at an event at 2. As we were about to leave, our room was ready. Had dinner at the restaurant downstairs. Flatbread and sweet potato fries was $20 (very reasonably priced) and tasted great! Only complaint was road noise, cars revving engines as they drove by....
