"The hotel was very clean and comfortable the door codes are a good idea but can be a bit tricky when you are loaded down with luggage. It is the first hotel we have stayed at with no reception or any evidence of someone being there in case of emergency but it seems to work ok. DIY breakfast was also new to us but once we had found the kitchen which was spotless everything fell into place. "Lovely guest house in a quiet area but still close to York city centre. The room was cosy with a comfortable bed. We had teas and coffees, both with decaf, a mini fridge with milks, water and butter, a selection of cakes and scones and a bowl of fruit. Alex also left a book of useful information and places to visit in York. We also requested an early check in and to leave our car at the guest house on our last day past our check out time which Alex kindly agreed. In short we thoroughly enjoyed...
