"I recently spent much of the month of July traveling through Italy. Of the 8 hotels we stayed at, Hotel Pontechiesa was the only disappointment. Pros: Our room was clean and the hotel is within walking distance of downtown Cortina. Cons: 1) Breakfast seating is assigned. In our case, we were seated next to a family with two coughing children. "Location is quite good, 5-8 minutes to town. Good price for room and half board. Room is clean and comfortable with old furniture. Bathroom is small. Room could be upgraded with modern renovation. Service is good in reception and restaurant. Dinning room is nice and pleasant. "

"Beautiful hotel with amazing views. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. My family and I are traveling around Europe and we have a decent amount of luggage. We were able to use their laundry facilities and the room was big enough to bring in all the luggage and re-situate everything. Would love to come back! "

"Beautiful place in a beautiful location. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable, but the best was the service. The hotel staff was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful, specially Davide. The half pension which we don't usually book, was very convenient and the food was delicious!!! wonderful presentation and outstanding food AND service. "Ambra Hotel is simply wonderful! A beautiful boutique hotel located in the heart of Cortina! Shopping, dining and any ski need is all within a short walking distance. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and no expense was spared in the remodeling / building. The staff are very attentive! You must stop and have Matteo, the “mixologist”, prepare a drink for you. He is quite skilled and shares fun stories. Bottom line, it’s a must-stay when visiting Cortina d’ Ampezzo. They have a sister property in Venice as well that we will have to explore on our next visit to Italy. "
