"Very beautiful hotel in downtown old Quito. We walked around to the churches and palace. We found great restaurants for lunch and dinner. Hotel La Basílica provides an excellent breakfast. The owner greats all guests and helps make any arrangements for transportation and tours. Much better service than we have received at chain hotels. The owner and staff genuinely care about their guests having a great experience. "

"We picked this gem of a hotel for its location in the heart of the old town, with views that are simply spectacular. It feels less like a hotel and more like staying in someone’s grand mansion. The breakfast, prepared by a sweet grandmother, was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The suites have towering ceilings that transport you to another time. The staff are warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. Highly recommended!""

"This boutique hotel is on the outer rim of the old town. The rooms were spacious and clean and the the bathroom was the same. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food at the restaurant was delicious. My breakfast was included and was delicious combination of fresh fruit, breads and made to order eggs. Had dinner and this also was delicious. The Old Town is very hilly, with cobblestones - so best to wear sturdy shoes on walks. My ch to see around town - 2 days was a good amount of time to get acclimated to the elevation and see some sights."
