"I was staying in Quito for a couple of night en route to Galapagos and found this little gem of a hotel. The hotel itself is an old colonial building which I understand dates from the early 1800s. It is clean, well maintained and the character of the property is amazing. The location is also very good for the historic centre of Quito and the Basilica which is a must to visit. The hotel staff could not do more for you during the stay, everyone was very helpful, friendly and caring. You feel very much a part of the family. Breakfast was top notch. If I come back to Quito again I would definitely stay again and will be recommending Hotel La Basílica to family and friends. "

" I had a pleasant stay at this hotel, thanks to its spacious rooms and comfortable amenities. The breakfast was decent, offering a good start to the day. The hotel's location was a major perk, within walking distance to top restaurants, attractions and tourist sites. The staff were friendly, helpful and always willing to assist. My only issue was a temporary water supply problem in the shower one evening, likely due to the hotel's historic architecture. However, this minor hiccup didn't detract from my overall experience. I would definitely stay here again, given the hotel's comfort, ideal location and excellent staff. "
