"The property was beautiful. The staff was accomodating, friendly, and responsive. The restaurant was lovely and ornately adorned, the rooftop seating area was gorgeous, and the food and drinks were wonderful. I felt safe since you had to be buzzed in and out of the property. My room was a garden view looking into the atrium--so pretty! My room had EVERYTHING I needed. If you don’t mind steep roads, the property is definitely walkabout to all of historic Quito. If you can't do steps, then the drive up is less than $2. I can't say enough good things about my stay. I loved it."

"The Casa Gangotena was perfection! The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff was gracious and attentive. We stayed in a very comfortable, large room with a spectacular view of the Plaza de San Francisco. We enjoyed breakfast and a wonderful dinner at the hotel and loved that the menu included local cuisine. Plus, the prices were reasonable - we would have easily paid twice as much at home for a meal of the same caliber. You also shouldn't miss a late afternoon cocktail on the rooftop!"

"This hotel was amazing all except for the bed. It was not very comfy, and the pillows were cheap. Since sleeping well is the main point of a hotel, I’m not sure I would stay here again despite my 5 star rating. The service, staff, location, and amenities were all amazing."
