"I liked the low cost of a one night stay but ended up paying a little extra to stay somewhere else after I checked into my room. The odour of the whole hotel was musky and damp, including the room. I was told no cleaners were going to be in for a few hours, by that time I was ready to leave. Dark room with same moldy smell, smoke detector not installed (left on night stand). "The hotel is full of charm and character. The front desk staff member was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. And it was a treat to have a cup of tea by the fire in the library. Wish we were staying longer!"
