"Nice hotel, great location, very welcoming staff. Worth noting that some rooms only have a bath tub, no shower - and our tub had a large stain which was a bit off putting. Our towels weren’t changed at all for the first few days of our stay, and there wasn’t much room to hang them to dry - but then they were changed daily on the last couple of days of the stay so perhaps they were just overlooked on the previous days. "Grand Hotel Excelsior is beautiful, elegant hotel not far (5 min walk) from Valletta's City Gate entrance by the Triton Fountain. The location by the water of the bay offers amazing views by day or night. The extra attention by all of the staff was very appreciated as it wasn't overpowering but discreet and gracious. "Smart hotel in a great location right in the middle of Valletta. Large room and nice breakfast. Unfortunately, our room (101), was right next to the cleaners closet so we were wakened every morning. Room could have done with a comfortable chair. Also, television is restricted to a few Austrian and German channels, not even anything local. The hotel has no outside space, it would have been nice to have somewhere to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Having said all that, we really enjoyed our stay."

"Everything was perfect for our stay. From check-in to breakfast to housekeeping, the staff were friendly and efficient. The spaciousness of our room, the amenities, and the good beds were very welcome. The buffet breakfast was vast, delicious, and unexpected.
