In April 2001, Egyptian archaeologists uncovered 22 mummies in Bahariya, some 350 kilometres from Cairo. They date from the 6th century BC and were neatly divided into two tombs. Shortly afterwards, during a journey through the White Desert, I was given the exceptional opportunity to descend with an Egyptian friend in one of the tombs. There I found this untouched sarcophagus of a mother with the mummy of her child on top of her. (The necropolis in the Bahariya Valley, home to more than 230 mummies, was only discovered in 1999.) #Adventure #LocalSecrets #Trovember

"The hotel is clean, but recaption staff are not professional. The gym is poor condition with equipment and opens from 10am till 10pm. I reserved the largest sweet and it’s small compared to other hotels. Bed are bad mattress everyday you’ll have back pain and ache. "We were so impressed by the service. The staff never says no to any request. Our daughter was not well, and they sent a doctor immediately. We had some problem with smoke in our room, they immediately sent an air purifier. The concierge gave excellent recommendation for a rooftop bar and restaurant. The restaurant’s in the hotel are also very good. We ate at the Asian and the Italian restaurant and had a very good experience. "
