(Sidebar: Christchurch's metro system is incredible, high frequency, inexpensive - $4 a day - and a tourist's dream, very tolerant of errors of navigation). The Executive Studio at the Lodge was spacious and well furnished, and above all quiet. The kitchenette was very useful, allowing for takeaways, and the bathroom was larger than my own...
