"Review for Umami Hotel I had an amazing stay at Umami Hotel! The service was excellent—the staff was friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The price-to-quality ratio is fantastic. The rooms are modern, clean, and very comfortable, offering great value for the price. Breakfast was a highlight—delicious and well-prepared with fresh ingredients. It’s a great way to start the day before exploring the area. Another big plus is the location. There are plenty of dining options nearby, all within walking distance, making it super convenient to enjoy local cuisine without needing transportation. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service at a reasonable price! Would definitely stay here again."

"I had a good experience at Namu. The hotel looks new and very well maintained. The service is great all over and they do make you feel special. It is probably one of the nicest hotels in Puerto Viejo. Areas to improve: the pool needs more loungers as they get filled up very quickly; also some of the top floor master rooms are noisy, can hear everything the neighbours are doing and they need some work to seal the noise."

"The house is very cute and you can’t beat the view. Step across the street and you are on the beach. My wife was working and (barring some Latin American mas o Minos the internet worked great. There are animals all around the house including an active and lively raccoon that takes a little work to keep your food safe but, for the most part, they have thought of everything. Take the notice about the noise seriously, though. If you are a light sleeper or reggae music playing all day from the bar next door is going to bother you, you might have issues. It was not an issue for us and Shara was very responsive and helpful with anything that came up. You will love Cocles as we did."

"The staff and amenities were very good. It is not a lush place, but a good value for your dollar. We were comfortable and enjoyed the pool, free breakfast, and kitchen utensils at our disposal. Would definitely stay here again."

"Beautiful jungle atmosphere. Wildlife animals observed on the property. Great drinks at the bar. Breakfast buffet and dinner was delicious. Walking distance to the beach and other restaurants. The family cabin had a wonderful patio and hammocks. I would’ve preferred adults only. It was almost impossible to be in the swimming area near the wet bar with so many kids present. Most of the vendors on the beach only accepted colones. I would suggest you get money exchanged from the airport or the national bank in Costa Rica ATM does colones. Tips are accepted for room service and meals. Laundry was outstanding! We received our laundry same day service. "
