"The house was wonderful. We enjoyed the two pools and the outdoor kitchen. The shaded outdoor seating areas were plentiful, with a few chairs in the sun near the pools as well. The Baguira house had two separate sections connected by a deck. Each had its own private bath. The one house had a loft with two king size beds, a small living room and a kitchen. The other had one king size bed. We walked to a grocery store and Playa Negra In about 10 minutes with a 6 year old. Puerto Viejo ...

"The lodging and grounds were beautiful and it’s so obvious how much love and time Daniel and Renata have put into their wonderful vacation accommodations. We saw so many birds, Toucan’s, a sloth, agouti’s, and even a caiman in their lagoon. They answered all of our questions, made great arrangements for tours, and made sure we had everything we needed daily! After a long day of hiking, etc. it was so refreshing to end the day with a swim in the pool. You won’t be disappointed! Thanks...

Liked watching the leaf cutting ants and observing green and blue black spotted little poison dart frogs along with other wildlife in the back yard."

"This place is remarkable— the views, the sounds, the breeze, the smells. This property has views of a very secluded beach. And you are in nature. Like in it in it. No windows or walls. The open walls and beautiful amenities make it a unique nature retreat. If you are squeamish about occasional bugs (or the stereo sounds of cicadas, howler monkeys, macaws) you should stay in a boring hotel. David is an excellent manager— Responsive and accommodating. "

"Beautiful Caribbean style property across the street from the beach. The master bedroom bungalow and upstairs bedrooms have AC and we had no issues with the bedroom without as it stayed cool with the provided fans. Property has all the basic amenities and is very comfortable. Easy drive to Playa Cocles and Puerto Viejo for groceries etc. I would definitely recommend!"

"Our family of 4 stayed here comfortably for 4 weeks. We liked being away from the center of town yet super close to the ocean - we practically had the local Playa Negra beach to ourselves. The kitchen was well equipped, loved using the boogie boards, and appreciated the multiple house fans to supplement the AC (in one bedroom). The property manager was always quick to respond whenever we needed anything. Thanks for a wonderful month in Puerto Viejo!"

"My husband and I stayed 5 days at Casa Verde. We had a very relaxing time there. The town is very small and everything is in walking distance. However, if you get a lot at the bigger grocery store, you might want to ask for them to deliver it for you. The beach is very close by. We bought two beach chairs to use while we were there and left them for others to use since there weren’t any. A few things to know: First, this house is very basic, just the essentials, no extras. "Highly recommend for your stay near Puerto Viejo! The property team is incredibly kind and communicative. The area is perfect, as it’s about 10 min drive from the main town so a bit quieter but still with things to do. It’s on a side road with a path directly to the beach. They even had beach chairs and towels which came in handy. When we had a small issue with the dryer, they sent someone right away. I honestly wish we had more time in Costa Rica just to relax on the property!"

"We loved our stay at Casa Duna. The location is perfect, walking distance to Playa Chiquita and a short ride or drive to Playa Uya. There is a great breakfast spot just south of the property, an easy walk, and a lovely pizza place tucked in behind it. If you want a more laid-back vibe this is a perfect property for you."

"We spent 5 days in october 24 as a family in the happy house. The location in the dschungel close to the beach is just perfekt. The beach is very quiet and sandy. About the best we saw on the carribean side. The house itself is very nice especially the big terrace facing the nice garden where we saw lot of monkeys. Steve was a very helpfuf host. We would love to come back."

Perfect

"Eric & Sharon were lovely. They have built an incredible property. The villas are absolutely perfect. We truly enjoyed learning about all of the plants and animals on their property. They have two beautiful dogs, 6 cats, and a resident sloth named Pearl. Breakfast is delicious. The "secret path" to the beach is delightful. Several of Eric's recommendations were spot on! Make sure to go to Lidia's restaurant. (Yellow curry shrimp was primo!) And definitely ask about an outing with Alex. You will learn all about his farm, see many animals, and kayak to the beach. It was our favorite outing! Thank you Eric and Sharon. We will definitely return!"

Beautiful accommodations

"Great boutique hotel, walking distance to all the amenities Puerto Viejo has to offer. We had a bungalow with our own pool which was fabulous. Service was excellent, as was breakfast which was included. My only complaint...two cappuccinos cost $18 CAD...ridiculous..."

Perfect Caribbean getaway location

"Lovely property. Awesome, kind and attentive staff. Great food. We loved our room which had a balcony with a view of the grounds and the Sea just through the trees. Comfy beach chairs kept cleaned and fresh, a bar set up and food options right on the beach. The best massage I've had maybe ever in a little secluded set up in the trees with the sound of the waves in the background. It's a very small property which was perfect and intimate."
