"I originally come from the Stroud area and know the hotel well. As we were visiting family we didn’t eat at the hotel so we aren’t able to comment on the full experience. The setting is great as was the view from our hotel room. Would we go back? Of course, we never got a chance to visit Winstons."

"We loved our stay at The Close. Very convenient, room was cosy and comfortable, the staff were friendly. Our only negatives were we felt that the drinks and food by the bar were overpriced for what they were and breakfast wasn't great (we had to wait a very long time to be served). "

"The food here was second to none, the staff couldn’t do any more. We had beef and fish and chips for tea and it was 10/10. The breakfast menu + buffet was also fab! The rooms were nice and big, however they were quite dusty and the shower pressure was a trickle of water so wasn’t too enjoyable. The roof of our room did look slightly concerning as was very bent with lots of cracks in, but maybe this is what old buildings are like! The warmth and cozyness of the place was amazing, fireplaces...
