"Spacious room, comfortable bed, service is ok. Breakfast spread was great. Free parking available. Do take note that hotel charges ¥900 per room for bathing tax, apparently for usage of public bath (onsen), even though we did not use it at all during our 3 nights stay. Hotel staff explained that this bathing tax will be charged regardless of usage. This is not logic, in my point of view. Mecure management (being a big hotel chain) should look into a managing system to only charge this tax for...

"夫婦で毎年別所温泉に来ていますが、今年は上山田温泉にしてみました。お部屋もお部屋にある露天風呂も良かったです。女性の露天風呂の薔薇も感激しました。暖かいおもてなしが良かったですが、残念だったのが、夜中まで騒いでいる別客の声が聞こえたりして、あまりのんびりと出来ず、貸風呂の廊下も雨の為とはいえ滑りやすく危険でした。温泉は最高だっただけに少し残念さが心残りです。"

"The hotel is located within reasonable walking distance from the train station. The hotel room was a single double bed for two which was cramped, but it was just for sleeping so it’s doable. There was no open floor area to open a full size suitcase without having to close it every time you need to exit it use the restroom, typical of Japanese hotels. "The staff were very friendly and helped with the automated check in. There are lots of extras provided including a free soft drink every day, choice of extra pillows and donuts.
