"The location of this hotel is excellent, right in the heart of Chichester and only a 10 min walk from the Festival Theatre. Room was very comfortable, if a little small, and the breakfast was cooked to order, not from a buffet. Our room and the hotel generally was very clean."

"Very friendly staff. My room was 2 floors up (28 steps) - not a problem for me, but there was no lift. Great central location, 15 minutes walk from the station, or a 2 stop bus ride. Excellent TV with apps allowing catch up, or watch from start if programme started (nearby chain hotel should take note). Very good breakfast. WiFi a bit flakey at top where I was, but not a real problem (might be if wanting to stream video). Room a bit "tired" but I've seen much worse. I don't think there's private parking, but I was travelling by train, so didn't enquire. Good value. "

"We had a wonderful weekend as a group of 8 friends. Plenty of space and well equipped for our group. We enjoying long walks along the coast and even managed a dip in the sea in January! The house was peaceful with a relaxed chilled-out vibe and the open fire was an added bonus on a cold evening. Communication with Kevin the owner was excellent and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house."

"Great proper English pub dog friendly. All the staff are helpful and friendly the room we were in ticked all the boxes . We stayed for 2 nights clean towels on second day . Traditional pub with good rooms . Went into Chichester which was about 20min drive great day out beautiful Cathedral. We will going back to the fox goes free ."

"We could hear the music on Thursday night, but it didn’t prevent us from sleeping. Overall, very comfortable."

"Pretty house, not a lot to do in village but relaxing. Would have liked a bath with jets or a pool table/karaoke/games console for further entertainment. A lot of areas are restricted and most of the facilities cost extra. Pool was an amazing experience though and worth the extra money. Only qualm was the broken ice dispenser and not knowing beforehand, but not a massive deal breaker."

"I found the staff welcoming and very friendly. I enjoyed my evening meal and breakfast. The room was very nice and I really enjoyed the deep bath. I did not like the bright green light that came from a box mounted on the ceiling. It was very bright and I had to arrange my pillows in such a way to block it out in order to sleep. I prefer a darker room to sleep in. Apart from that everything was lovely. "
