"Great family time with no distractions. Owner's communication was great. We had one issue that was resolved with 24 hours of sending the owner an email. Luis, the caretaker, and his wife were wonderful. They were really helpful, and we enjoyed meeting them and their son. Perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle, but very reliable Wi-Fi to stay in touch as desired."

When we called VRBO (very difficult from abroad) they said this was a false listing (my daughter had to do this in the states as it was too difficult form afar). "Mahahual is a great little village but now growing due to cruise ship visits. The house is about 8.5 k from the village down a very bad road with many huge potholes but we made it a few times in and out! The house itself was ok but it seems like it needs some TLC and maintenance. There is no oven or microwave so plan around that. There are many books however in a humid climate they suffer. The grounds were landscaped but are now very messy & need to be cleaned. Unfortunately we didn’t have hot...

"Have visited Bacalar many times. We have loved QM and i think the water is perfect to step into the lagoon from there as it is not deep. Excellent view and a well maintained garden by the property manager, Juan. Really attractive little property! it is a bit far from the centre, away from the busy parts but you have to walk through hills up and down to get there so if older don’t recommend to walk. Also it is next to a boating company so can get noisy but overall it is really a paradise. If we...

"Everything was great with our stay Oct 26th 2024 for one night however when I booked 2 days prior it said I would be charged at the property at checkin but was still immediately charged $75.94. When I checked in at the property on 26th they charged me another $76.90. It has been 3 calls now to request a refund and 2 weeks after still nothing. This was my only concern."
