"This place was perfect for my family and 2 year old australian shepherd. The manager and owner are both awesome and answered any questions we had. We loved being able to walk to one of the restaurants in old town and taking the food back to enjoy in our cottage. Our dog was so happy to have his very own fenced backyard. We also got to walk to church to attend a beautiful Sunday mass. We’d love to stay here again and highly recommend staying here."

"My family had a great time visiting the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park which was so close to this home. We could easily take a zoo break and eat lunch at home, picking up food from a selection of so many nearby restaurants. Grocery shopping was also easy with several local choices within 10 minutes. Host was quick to respond to questions and provided helpful snacks and drinks for when we didn’t have time the first night to shop yet. "

"The house is located in a great central spot close to all the great San Diego attractions. Check-in was easy once I received instructions. House was clean and it was well stocked, plenty of space for my family of 5. I didn’t have any issues. The weather was nice. I would definitely consider staying again, perhaps in the summer so we can take a swim in the pool since it was too cold this time."

Hillcrest is so close to 'the central park' of San Diego ("Balboa Park) that you can walk south to the Zoo in 12 minutes, not to mention the other 17 museums inside Balboa, the green jewel of the tenth largest city of the country. Better yet, the whole neighborhood is residential, walkable, and close to a dozen great restaurants on University Ave to the north. Is it a secret? "We had a wonderful stay at this property. Kent was a gracious host and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and places to see. The one bedroom apartment is spacious and comfortable. There are big windows everywhere so it is bright and cheery. The windows overlook the fantastic gardens that Kent has build over the years. Every view makes you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The apartment was very clean and all the amenities we needed were provided. We hope to be back soon....
