"This was our first stay at Gisborough Hall Hotel due to attending a wedding at the hotel. The hotel is set in magnificent grounds and from your first contact with reception, all staff are excellent and a credit to the management. Room was clean and ready. As per the brochure pictures. We had lunch in the De Brus Grill and the food was first class. Prices are a bit on the high side but it is a top hotel after all. Breakfast was exceptional. The bed in the room was like sleeping on a marshmallow. The best hotel bed I have ever slep in from visiting many hotels here and overseas. The Lord of the manor visited around the guests and it was a great experience to speak to him in person. He plays the piano in the Hotel in the evenings. And he is 98 years old. An exceptional gentleman. Biggest bonus for the hotel is the staff. Nothing is a problem to them. Polite and friendly with a sense of humour added in. A great weekend for us. I would visit this hotel again."

"We spent 8 nights here in early April. The property is beautifully set out with everything you could need - including some very warm underfloor heating.The location is perfect for cycling and walking right from the doorstep, with Apps like Komoot perfect for plotting spectacular circular days out. The barn is wonderfully quiet, with lovely views across the valley.Mark and Moya were the perfect hosts and always there if you needed any help or advice. Communication was excellent.Already planning a return in 2026!"

"A truely lovely pitstop. I was made to feel really welcome from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. Only slight downside was there was no phone signal and the wifi was sketchy, but absolutely perfect to get away from it all. Located in a beautiful area for walking/running/cycling"

"Stayed here as attending a wedding at Danby castle . It was quiet , bedroom lovely and clean , staff very friendly and accommodating, breakfast delicious.. no fault whatsoever. Would definitely recommend 🙂"

"We fell in love with the cottage from the time we first entered - to find everything needed to make tea and biscuits, and a vase of flowers in the kitchen (and the unique feature - the cell door and barred windows on the old police cell!) The cottage had plenty of space and was very comfortable and well fitted - comfortable beds and linen, plenty of towels, well equipped kitchen and everything nice and clean.The heating system was of a type I had not previously encoutered, burning wood pellets, but the comprehensive instructions in the house guide made this easy to use and it worked perfectly. Add to this an ideal location for exploring the moors (and the local pubs and co-op), and this is a cottage I would love to return to another year."

"We stayed in Buttercup cottage. We were greeted by our host Rachel and made to feel very welcome. The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we could need. The bedrooms were upstairs, a twin room which looked out over the countryside and also had velux windows for star gazing and the double room with velux windows. Downstairs was very spacious with a comfortable lounge, lovely dining room with a big table to eat round and take in the views, great kitchen with everything you need and so clean and a big bathroom with shower over the bath. We parked right outside our door. The garden had some lovely spots to sit in and listen to the wildlife around. We slept so well in comfortable beds and loved how peaceful and relaxing the place made us feel. We are already looking forward to planning our next stay. "
