"This was our first stay at Gisborough Hall Hotel due to attending a wedding at the hotel. The hotel is set in magnificent grounds and from your first contact with reception, all staff are excellent and a credit to the management. Room was clean and ready. As per the brochure pictures. We had lunch in the De Brus Grill and the food was first class. Prices are a bit on the high side but it is a top hotel after all. Breakfast was exceptional. The bed in the room was like sleeping on a marshmallow. The best hotel bed I have ever slep in from visiting many hotels here and overseas. The Lord of the manor visited around the guests and it was a great experience to speak to him in person. He plays the piano in the Hotel in the evenings. And he is 98 years old. An exceptional gentleman. Biggest bonus for the hotel is the staff. Nothing is a problem to them. Polite and friendly with a sense of humour added in. A great weekend for us. I would visit this hotel again."

"Had a very nice weekend break at the old forge cottage good location nicely equipped and clean Would return Only downside was young men in the river at bottom of the garden using bad language not good when you have grandkids with you but nothing to do with the cottage though "

"Lovely clean room, bathroom a good size, think we might have had the largest room. Bed was soft and comfy. Breakfast was delicious, cooked perfectly. Pub is in a good position in the village with walks from the doorstep and near great TI office. Pub meals are not overpriced."

"A truely lovely pitstop. I was made to feel really welcome from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. Only slight downside was there was no phone signal and the wifi was sketchy, but absolutely perfect to get away from it all. Located in a beautiful area for walking/running/cycling"

"Great place, made such a change from regular hotels with personal touches. Room was a great size & included a sofa & small table/chairs. The small tea/coffee station with some breakfast options included in the room was the bit the bowled me over… a treat at 6am, cereal & fruit, new milk & yogurt, plus proper coffee bags, even a tray to carry it to the table. I did eat downstairs within the restaurant on the 1st night which was fab… calzone pizza special & cookie dough special were both tasty & comforting. Overall a really 10/10 experience, whomever put the small touches into the guest experience needs to be rewarded… I stay in corporate hotels week in/out 50 weeks a year & this was such a refreshing change that they could learn from. (A few hanging baskets / pots in the side tunnel around the side hotel door would brighten the entrance up, as it felt a stark/cold). Fabulous stay, very happy to recommend!! "
