"Umami is a gorgeous garden hotel! We loved our suites. The decor is just stunning. The staff is courteous and kind. Breakfast tasted amazing! We loved the rice and beans. The parking is minimal. However using bikes, a tuk tuk, or walking is the best way to get around this jungle beach town. Bring earplugs because the birds and other lodgings in the area may wake you up. As a Jamaican, I loved our culture mixed in. We loved Old Habour aka Puerto Viejo! We will definitely go back and stay at Umami...

"If you want amazing hospitality and relaxing vibes this the place. The staff made it all perfect. We stayed for 4 nights and left completely relaxed. Don’t forget to visit the sister property they have a very nice pool. The only observation is the dining menu is always the same and very seafood forward. However they are great restaurants nearby. "

"This location was considered somewhat safe as they had Onsight guards for safety, but the roads to get to this location were very rough and you could only travel at about 10 or 15 Kilometers per hour to get to the location.
