"What an amazing way of making the Shimanimi Kaido Route more enjoyable. Don’t ever doubt it and split your route in two days just to enjoy the place. "Business man’s hotel I suppose. Right across from Mihara Station. Small room but well laid out and spotless. Young man at desk was very jolly and hospitable on my arrival. No view, wall of another building but it was dark when I got there and sleep was all I craved. Desk stored my bags for me after check out as I’d planned to visit Buttsuji Temple but I missed the early bus and couldn’t wait till afternoon for the next so I took a walk down to the port. Ferry to nearby islands in the Seto Island...

"When is a resort not a resort? In this case, when it doesn't provide any facilities outside the room. There's a rooftop bar in summer but nothing at other times. Staff were pleasant but breakfast was limited and when we asked for a second cup of coffee we had to pay for it. The room is large but was taken up by 4 double futons and a massive hanging screen for projecting TV/video. We felt it was intended for a large group who wanted to watch DVDs all day.
