"We really enjoyed our stay at Whispering Pines, this property is set in a very quiet and secluded neighborhood near Lake Watauga. Its very cozy inside with multiple fireplaces and enough rooms to spread out when visiting with large groups. The hot tub is located in a perfect spot to provide some privacy. "Ski Roost has a wonderful view from the deck and is equipped with little touches that make for a wonderful stay. There were some yard games and sharpies to decorate rocks on the deck, the retro arcade game was a huge hit with the kids and adults, and the deck fire pit gave warmth while we took in the view in the morning and evening. "My friends and I who are 68 and older stayed here overnight and went snow tubing which is very close by. His house is older, but they have put some good modern features in there as well. This was the perfect house for friends to be together or separate if you want…. There’s three bedrooms & there’s the lower level with the pool table and an extra bed. "The house could have been cleaner. I did have good communication with the host. I liked having a separate living spaces so that the teenagers had their own space. Make sure you read the amenities. I did not realize that there was not AC that’s my fault for not reading thoroughly. Definitely had to go out and buy some fans. Beautiful view!"
