"We stayed at the Arbutus Inn recently and due to some of the reviews we had read about bugs etc., we were a bit skeptical but it turned out to be a very pleasant experience and no bugs anywhere. We chose the ground floor and found our room quite spacious, very clean and everything was in working order. "Easy transit area with Island Link Bus drop at hotel and local bus stops on street; 30 minute walk to downtown. This is a well worn hotel but clean. Bed was very comfortable, good shower, rooms are spacious with coffee maker, fridge and microwave, carpet is old. I am an older female solo traveler and I felt hotel was safe. Neighborhood is around car dealerships and a large car wash. Dennys is linked to the hotel for food option. I walk everywhere and always feel need to be aware of surroundings....

"Gary is a gracious and wonderful host and has a beautiful, unique home, close to downtown Victoria. The patio area was a favourite hangout complete with surround sound stereo, hot tub, and gas barbeque.
