"First time at the Chateau Victoria, and I could not be more impressed. Excellent service! Everyone was very welcoming. I arrived way before check-in time, and they checked me in early at no cost because the room was ready. So great first impression with that! Then I had a minor issue with the shower, and the time between me informing the front desk and the issue being resolved was about 5 minutes, probably less. I also had some urgent work stuff come up, and the front desk helped me with the computer and printer as well as with scanning and sending some documents. Dinner and drinks at Clive’s were delicious with excellent service (as usual). That’s just the people! The hotel location is perfect. It’s downtown so I was near several dining and shopping options. The hotel’s also on a quieter street, so while the excitement is a short walk away, you can easily return to a nice quiet hotel easily. All in all a great stay, and I hope I can come back again soon. "

"In a gem of a city, this place is a real gem, and great value for the money. The room was old, clean and comfy — like an old slipper. There are a few floors and NO ELEVATORS. The pub and restaurant are great, and they’re always busy, BUT, I’ve always been able to find seats. There are always customers coming and going. James Bay is near the sights and sounds of downtown and near parks —such a wonderful location. The horse drawn carriages are just around the corner — one of the great sounds you can enjoy as you awaken in comfortable surroundings. "
