"We booked for a one night stay, as we were attending our Aunts 80th Birthday party and had to travel a distance. Our evening meal was acceptable as traditional pub grub and the service/staff were very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was FAB, we had a full English and couldn't fault. "Great hotel and really friendly and supportive staff. Was going to have to work at times through the night and my request for late check out was met, however no payment required as the hot water was off for a short while. Second time staying there and won’t be the last."

"Only stayed over the night and first thing was how nice the area was, the reception staff were great, felt comfortable on arrival. Booked a table for meal that night and again really easy and comfortable and staff still amazing . Food was nice too, Room was comfortable for our short stay, had breakfast in morning with plenty of choice again nice food and great staff. Woukd stay there sgain "

"Very impressed. Stayed for 1 night with my 8 year old son as a stopover on the way to Snowdonia. By far the cheapest hotel I could find in the local area, so expectations were low. Impressed though at the hotel, friendly staff at check-in, decent rooms and surprisingly comfy bed! Only downsides - the walls seemed rather thin, the angry man in the next room having an argument with someone on the phone was heard rather clearly(!) and shower lacked much pressure. But all in all, for a cheap night...

"Good location - staff friendly and helpful - room lightening very dull to read anything only bathroom light bright - no lifts only stairs - beds were small I was frightened to turn over incase I fell out of bed - seems an old building g needs a refurb to modernise it - windows didn’t open to stay open enough to get signing and radiators in a timer room very warm- otherwise it served the purpose glad we only stayed 1 night "

"One night stay along with our 15yr old son. All 3 of us stayed in the same room which was very spacious, set out lovely and very clean. We were impressed with the decor and fealt comfortable right from first entering. Yes it could do with a bit of an update but nothing to worry about at all. The management and staff couldn’t be more helpful during our stay right from checking in to having a bite to eat and a few drinks in the bar. "The hotel is a little way from the city centre but is oh so worth it. The hotel is a former rum warehouse and it was great to see so many of the original features had been preserved. Room was very large and well furnished. Bar area had a good atmosphere, the restaurant menu had a good selection, I had the lamb pasta which was excellent. Highly recommend paying to use the spa, not too busy, very relaxing. "

Quiet, comfortable, excellent service.

"Very helpful and welcoming staff. I forgot to pack a toothbrush and a staff member kindly brought one to my room (thank you!). The only slight downside was hot items for breakfast could have been warmer. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented, but breakfast starts at 7.00am on a Saturday and at 7.05 bacon, eggs etc were only luke warm. Perhaps everything is being put out ready for service earlier than it needs to be on a Saturday?"

"This is our 2nd stay at this hotel. It is local for shopping entertainment and plenty of dining options. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are a good size and linen of top quaility. It is very clean and decor is lovely. We very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. "
