"Somewhat obsessed with booking me in for breakfast 3+ days in advance of staying, Dir to availability, and it didn’t reach 50% capacity. WiFi in the room was poor, which hindered me working and watching a movie. Comfortable stay, lovely bar and fireplace area."

"Superb stay in a lovely quiet location. Michael was very attentive and professional, nothing was too much trouble. Room was very clean and had all necessary in room goodies. Breakfast was superb and the perfect start to the day. "

"It's a lovely hotel with excellent grounds to walk the dogs in. Although it could do with a paint touch up in places and some TLC The room we had was clean and the bed was comfy. The service was good however they appeared to be short staffed. The young waitress in the dining room serving evening meal works really hard, and she's a credit to the hotel. The food at both breakfast and in the evening was really nice. We would return to this hotel again if staying over in Keswick."

"Ideal cottage for 2. Very warm (we had a winter break) and cosy. Red squirrels in the copse next door and a fabulous view of Blencathra. Dog friendly with a fully enclosed garden. We will be back. "

"I received a call 24 hours before our arrival (on New Years Eve),telling me the booking cancelled due to 'gas issues' in the apartment. I was told they would arrange for Expedia to search for alternative accomodation. I was ,however,scepital about this and proceeded to try and find accomodation myself,without success at such short notice. "Old hotel, creeky floor boards but to be expected. Lots of nice historical features too but clean and updated. So handy for shopping and places to eat, but the hotel menu looked very good and fair priced. We went to music venu 2 minutes walk away in the evening. Quiet at night even with our bed room facing the main square. Would stay again"

"Great friendly hotel just of the M6. Wonderful for a break of journey or a stop in the Lake District. Easy direct access to surrounding area plus M6 north & South. Tebay farm shop & services nearby. Yet hotel is quiet & tranquil while welcoming to children. Good breakfast & meals in hotel but they do struggle with peak demand. If you are not in a rush it is wonderful. If you are there is always the lovely services. Much nicer than typical motorway lodges"

Really nice place for a night or two

"A lovely comfortable room, with amazing views. It can be a little noisy if you're a light sleeper. Convenient location in the middle of Ambleside, close to Windermere. Bar is very nice with a decent range of drinks. I'd happily stay here again. "
