"Staff are great, both the breakfast service and dinner service were above what I would expect. They are always looking to help, they are very polite and easy to talk to. The staff on the desk were very welcoming and made the process of booking in very easy, answered any questions and needs we had, which is very nice. Room is very relaxed, a lot of really nice lighting choices. The bathroom is big and very modern and clean, mirror is a standout in that respect, very good. They provide a kettle, tea, coffee and decaf. And ironing board, iron, hairdryer and place for your suit. They have a TV with lots of channels, one for movies being broadcast at the time. They had bedside tables, a table for eating, and a desk for sitting at. The room has double locks, a rotating lock and a 'deadbolt' it just operates a bit differently than a normal one. Places to hang up coats. They come in to clean daily and you can have towels changed when you wish. Elevators are quick and nice. Overall very impressed."

"Close to the train station which was good, but arriving late on a Saturday evening alone, I didn't feel massively safe walking from the station to the hotel on my own as there were a considerable number of intoxicated people getting off the train at Derby as well. "

"We had a great time at the Mickleover. The hotel was well located near Derby with ample parking. What made our stay great was that everything in the room was working properly with a good level of upkeep. The staff were wonderfully engaging and took time to deal with us individually to give us that 5 star treatment."

"We were made very welcome by Laura on reception who was very friendly and answered all our questions so wanted to mention her particularly. Room was nice and comfortable, breakfast was good and Laura helped show us where everything was."

"We had a lovely 2 night stay at Stone House Hotel in one of the garden rooms. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was modern, clean, and spacious, with a lovely big bath and nice toiletries to use (bath/shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, hand wash). Not necessarily negatives, but things to consider: Being in a garden room, we had patio doors out. It was lovely, however meant we didn't have a window to open when it was warm, and we didn't want to leave a door open overnight! Also, to access these rooms you had to go up stairs, and then back down, despite them being on the ground floor. I don't think there was any other access to them. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice. We had dinner in the Indian restaurant one night, which was also very nice. Stone is a 20 minute walk away, and has some nice places to eat and walks along the canal. We would definitely stay again if in the area."
