"We loved Steam House. The room had real character and the location was great. There were 2 adults and 2 children and, even with 2 single beds and a queen size bed, plus our luggage, the room felt spacious and was well equipped. The breakfast provided was generous and certainly filled us up before we started the day. Steam House represented very good value for money and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a place to stay in Bologna. "

"It was more like a hostel, but was clean. It was hard to figure out how to get there and using the shower was kind of complicated. I had to ask for a cot, even though I asked them for double beds before I got there. Decent nights sleep."

"I chose this location because it was close to where I needed to be. This is an apartment converted into a B&B. It’s great inside but the surrounding residential area has little to offer. It works best if you’re driving through and need a place to stay (and park). To its credit once inside it very comfortable and thoughtfully appointed. The rating badges are prominently on display. They ask you to pay with credit card by sending your drains through WhatsApp. They didn’t even know I was supposed to be there, put me into a different room and demanded more payment due to their own mistakes. It’s the bottom floor, cannot open blinds for the window because it’s not safe. There is absolutely No ventilation, air coin “broken yesterday”. The electronic locks were a little odd at first (unlocking the main door with your code will then unlock your room door as well) but we picked it up quickly. I can see more traditional travellers finding this a little troublesome though. "La casa si trova nella parte sud del centro, dentro le mura, comoda per muoversi a piedi, ma in una posizione davvero tranquilla. Pulizia ottima. Molto gentile il proprietario."

Compared to what I paid, I go a lot - very much value for the money. Firenzuola is situated between Florence and Bologna in a beautiful area in the Northern Appenines full of history, which just added to a good experience."

"Residenza Ariosto is an excellent place to stay in Bologna. The apartment is not luxurious but is clean ,comfortable and has everything you need. The apartments in via Marsala are in a great position to explore and enjoy Bologna. Instructions for check in are clear. This is our second stay and we highly recommend."

"Great apartment but the building is undergoing some massive renovation and there was a lot of noise during the day and construction scaffolds everywhere. Both balconies in the apartment had scaffolding out front so we couldn’t use them and had to keep the windows closed. The area isn’t great, typical university type vibe. Didn’t feel unsafe at all, but lots of graffiti. If we go back I’d probably choose a place closer to piazza maggiorie. "

Can't get a better location

"I had a really lovely stay, check in and reception staff wereovely and my room was clean and comfortable. It was noisy on a morning - very little sound proofing and cleaning staff talking loudly. The breakfast is just amazing - so much choice and very high quality. The location in the centre of Bologna could not be better. "

"Hotel facilities, breakfast, location and ambiance was brilliant. This hotel was a short walk from all the main attractions and main square. The reception, concierge and room staff were all friendly and welcoming. The room was modern and very clean and comfortable. The windows are openable too which I like. There’s water in the mini fridge. The shower and bathroom were wonderfully stocked with little niceties like shower caps (rainforest shower demands this!) very happy customer who will definitely be back. "

"I became extremely sick after arriving and the woman at the front desk was so helpful in getting me a hot meal from next door. I felt so taken care of and safe as a solo traveler abroad. The hotel is beautiful and in a convenient location. Breakfast is also a lovely experience with lots of offerings! "

"This hotel is really well located in the centre, so it's easily walkable to everything you need and lots of major attractions, restaurants, food markets etc. The staff are the best aspect of the hotel, both in reception and in the dining areas. Breakfasts were good, and the hotel resturant menu looked excellent although we had already booked other restaurants for dinner. Unfortunately the bathroom in our room flooded every time we used the shower, and the heating wasn't easy to control without asking reception to do it. Overall a great little hotel, and any shortcomings were easy to ignore given the lovely staff."
