"We were nervous arriving at this hotel as some reviews were horrific! We were delighted to find that the room and en-suite bathroom were absolutely spotless. Yes, the stairs are a bit grubby and *very* steep but so were every other stairs we came across in Amsterdam. Yes, the beds are probably narrower and closer together than some other hotels, but they were absolutely clean and combined with the fantastic location we were delighted at this find. "Loved Bob W. Stunning apartment complex, really good location - only a few stops on the bus to Amsterdam Centraal. The bus stop is right around the corner not even 2 minutes walk. "Although Hotels.com cancelled my reservation from the hotel instead of showing me as a no-show for late check-in, hotel staff was extremely helpful for finding a solution at the spot. I might not have a place to stay if it wasn't for their incredible kindness to offer me one of the available rooms. I'm terribly sorry that I forgot her name but If i remember correctly Mariana(The hotel manager) is one of the nicest people you can find around Amsterdam. Thanks to her and other crew members for their kindness and helpfullness. In addition you can rent a bike from the hotel also, so that was a great plus for me. Once again thanks to everyone who made me feel welcomed"

Micro Hotel Happiness

"citizenM Amsterdam South is a unique chain of hotels with a micro footprint focus. Each room has an "open" show and toilet area in the main bedroom, partitioned by a glass tube and or curtain, which takes some getting used to. The staff is stellar, I enjoyed when they called us guest "citizens". The lobby feels akin to a hostel, in that its very communal, even with the likes of business workers. Its affordable and in a good location. Watch out for all the bikes!"
