"We’ve used this hotel for about 17 yrs and it’s always been quiet, with attentive staff, and very clean. The only thing I would comment on for this stay is that there was a very strong electric air freshener on in the room when we arrived, which was not good for me as I have allergies. It was soon switched off and the window opened for proper fresh air!"

We had an afternoon tea, used the Spa facilities as well as a treatment. "One of the many good things about The View in Eastbourne is that it has a number of single rooms, and they represent particularly good value for money. Also, great sea views, friendly and helpful staff, nice food, good value, and very clean. My only negative experience is only a minor one. It's just a bit fiddly if you want breakfast in your room - you have to go to reception to get a little form to indicate your order, and then give it back to reception for them to take it from there. No such forms in the rooms, and no option to hook the form on your door for the night porter to collect the form and give it to the kitchen. Perhaps if you scan the code on the leaflet in the room it gets simpler, but I got a message on my phone saying it was out of date. Overall a great stay though, and the restaurant is very spacious if you want a quiet table for breakfast. "
