"This is my first time visiting Tokyo and Juyoh was my first hotel/hostel stay. What a great first impression of Japanese hospitality. Juyoh is located in Taito City, which is a charming and quieter area north of Ginza. The room is modestly sized with a tatami style sleeping mat and cushion, which is quite comfortable for people who are minimalists, a sleeping style called "shikibuton." There is no TV. "The first night I was there, I could smell the smoke from the nearby smoking room, each time it was used. The second day, the staff moved me to a room on the other half of the floor, which I very much appreciated. I took a downgrade in bed size, but I could live with that. The room was small but pretty comfortable; there was only one toilet per floor but I only had to wait to use it once; showers were a bit small and had nowhere to hang your towel (aside from in the shower) but the water...

"Very cool hostel! Has a chic coffee shop and clothing shop downstairs, host was extremely nice and made sure that people were comfortable, right next to Keisei Takasago station for easy commute. I had a great time talking and hanging out with host and fellow hostelmates, will be coming back!"

"We stayed in a 2-bed room for 10 nights. You should expect the bathroom to be small, but it has everything we needed. The hotel has a common area kitchen, which we didn't use much, but also the room itself had a little fridge and a table. There is a laundromat literally across the street if you need to do laundry. The staff was SO nice the entire time!!! We really enjoyed our stay here while in Japan!"

"Staff was nice but don't speak English. However it's a shared common restroom area by a few guests rooms, the room was small but okay comfortable, the lightings in the room didn't work well at all, it's hard to get service there. I wouldn't recommend this place although it's conveniently located only 18 minutes of walking to the area for the fireworks festival. The WiFi wasn't straightforward either. Not working well. There's a small elevator which helps. They seem friendly with inviting us...

"Here is the rub. My room was a capsule space. When I arrive, there were two shelves, one upper and lower shelf at the head of the bed. It was dark. I did not know that the bottom shelf was adjustable. Because of this for three nights, I slept with my feet hanging off the edge of the bed and on the third night I woke up, hitting my head on the bottom shelf because when the bed was made, the shelf was not collapsed and prepared for the next customer. "This place was more spacious than most other places I've stayed at in Tokyo, which was a huge plus. The nearest train station was close and accessible by walking. However, visitors should note that this place is pretty far from the big tourist areas, such as Shibuya, Ginza, Shinjuku, etc. Everything is accessible by train, but it will take you a while (maybe give it like 1 hour). The place was very clean. Great stay"

"The helpful friendly staff were amazing and went out of their way to help. The room was quite nice, a little small and no wardroom but it was ok for short visits. It would be nice if they had onsite The kettle and cups were in the room but no tea or coffee, you had to go to reception to get tea and coffee. "

Excellent hotel in terms of value for money

"The room was not as good on the photos on Hotels.com website. However, the staff was wonderful, from reception, restaurant to housekeeping. Location is very good, with 10 minutes walk to 2 Asakusa stations, for Ginza and Asakusa line. Lawson supermarket right in front of the hotel, quiet neighborhood, reception offers toiletries. Breakfast was very good, and it is from 7-9.30am. Asakusa is a tourist destination itself, with famous temple complex, many souvenir shops, plenty of restaurants, very good exchange office near the main temple. Value for money in this hotel is an absolute 10, at leas when compared to New York for example. The food in Tokyo in the ordinary restaurants is very good, with very good prices. The meal I had in one of them for 1000 yen held me for 6 hours walking through the town. Hospitality in Tokyo is the best I have seen in any modern city, and I have visited over 90 countries of the world. "
