Susukinohara Ichinoyu

3.0 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (193)
"We stayed two nights in a Japanese room with private open-air bath. It was fantastic. The room was clean, modern and had everything we needed. Words cannot describe the private open air bath which we used as much as possible. We had dinner and breakfast included - these meals may be challenging for western tastes but if you're feeling adventurous, go for it! Unfortunately the public bath was closed when we visited so I cannot comment on this."

"Booked this room for the private onsen and it was quite a lovely experience. We brought our luggage to them early in the morning and asked them to hold it until our check in so we could explore and after we checked in and made it to our room they sent someone to bring the luggage up. There was a breakfast buffet included with our room and it had a really nice variety of foods from western to Japanese. Staff spoke great English "

Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori

3.5 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (1232)
"This place is by the last stop in the ropeway. It has impeccable decor and amenities. Recommend getting the in room tub on your balcony. They also have foot bath outside and onsen. The food in the dining area was very good and you get great traditional Japanese attire while you are there. Note: this is far from Odawara. If you come in they have a shuttle 3 times a day if you book in advance. That’s recommended over the city bus."

Hakone Gora KARAKU

4.5 star property

"We stayed at Karaku for one night and were blown away by how beautiful the hotel was and the exceptional service of the staff, most notably Mr. Lee. I booked a West Wing room with open air onsen that included dinner at 5pm. It felt like a good idea at the time because we planned to do the ropeway and pirate boat ride, but unfortunately when we stayed it decided to snow and those activities were closed. The hotel was so helpful in moving our dinner to 7:30pm so we had time to explore. I kind of...
