A few minutes walk after the train, up a doable hill past the open air museum which is a great highlight of the guesthouse. The irori dinner needs to be ordered in advance with limited seating & was a sweet experience where I got to wear a pretty yakuta for the first time, I just didn’t know what was the right way to wear it. The staff were helpful, many spoke a bit of English or more & were helpful with things to do. I love the decor & the look of the place. Felt very rustic which was the perfect look for the mountains. Keep in mind traveling time as the cable car trains take a while due to being a one way scenic rail & many stops along the way. I highly recommend this stay!

Overall great property, though a little bit far away from most things in the area. A cosy japanese style hoste l experience
We stayed here for two nights in one of the small double pods (up the ladder). It was a bigger space than we expected and quite comfortable. The walls are understandably thin, so be prepared to hear people in the rooms around and below you. There are earplugs provided, which is helpful. The staff were all lovely and we really enjoyed our dinner around the fire! We also walked to a nearby onsen and found the location to be very convenient for exploring Hakone. Would definitely recommend!
Good place to stay, close to hakonetozan Chokokuno
This was my first time staying at a guest house. I am very impressed of how friendly and attentive the personnel is. They made the check in and check out very easy and recommended places to visit. Looking forward to stay again in the near future
Clean, tatami style rooms, fully equipped kitchen. Showers, toilets, and kitchen are all shared, but we never had a problem. The hearth's a great place to hang out. Staff speaks pretty good English.
Convenient access to transit. Not many food options (especially at night) in the area though.
This place was beautiful! The whole property was quite pleasing to look at. Our room was a bit small for the price was affordable compared to the competitors. The one problem we had was being woken up by others moving around the hostel. Because the place was made of wood there was lots of creaking. The floors also seemed thin because it sounded like someone was slamming themselves against the floor every time they moved.
The bathrooms were clean and they even had a communal dinner every night.
The location is GREAT.
