"Would stay in this place again with a big group as it has 3 bedrooms and all amenities you could want. Only caution is the steps leading up and down as it has no handrails and is steep. It also has only 1 sink for all to use- if you don’t mind that, well worth staying here!"

"Avoid this property at all costs! It was a nightmare, owner couldn’t be contacted for hours (tried to call him and no one picked up the phone) and only after we got a hold of him, he informed us that the place was double booked. We were travelling with 2 young kids and waited nearly 2 hours in front of this property. It was 9 pm and we had to scramble to find a place to stay. "We stayed in this house for a week - 5 people. The host did the homework for us and mailed us a number of pertinent videos, from how to get a Suica card to exactly how to get to his house. The house itself is next to a large sakura, in the middle of a middle-class quiet non-touristic neighborhood, 5 minutes by foot from a seibu line station. "Place was clean and a very traditional Japanese house. If you want authentic, this is your place. Only 1 chair and desk, so sitting on the floor all the time is a bit tough. Good location, quiet and quaint. Could use some helpful kitchen items like oil, soy sauce, s&p. Instructions throughout house was great. Great udon mom and pop shop around corner and local museum. Close to subway and quick bus to Asakusa and other areas. "

"My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. I would recommend it if you are traveling with a large group that wants to stay in separate rooms. Please keep in mind that most of the bedrooms are on the top floor and the stairs may be too steep for older people/young kids."

"We had a great vacation close to the skytree. Our host communicated well, and let us keep our luggage for a few hours after our stay and before our flight. The place was large and clean. I would definitely stay here again.The only downside is the street noise is loud during the night but that is just being in one of the largest cities in the world. Just keep in mind if you're a light sleeper."

"The host Keita is very nice and kind! He provided any help we need regarding our stay. We kept communicating with him via Whatsapp and Vrbo, and he answers whenever we have inquiries.The 2 connected rooms we lived in can accommodate a total of 3 people. There are 2 aircon with cooling and heating so the room are warm despite the almost freezing temperature outside. There is also a hanger where we can hang our jackets and towels. The room is quite spacious compared to other hotels in Tokyo....

"Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this traditional Japanese house. The location is near Oshiage Skytree station (10-15 minutes walk). This might not suit some as a location to get to tourist locations but it worked well for us.Contact before and during our stay from the owners was excellent and so helpful with restaurant information and local knowledge.The beds were very comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed to have some meals at home. "Excellent location! Right next to a river that had cherry blossoms sprouting when we arrived. A convenience store wasnt too far. Was traveling with a group of 5 so this house was more than enough space! The host was amazing and communicated effectively! "

"The photos on this listing are not up to date, which surprised us when we walked in. The cleaner was also still present and left the sink and shower drains dirty. However, Memo was super easy to communicate with and brought a cleaner back to fix the drains. Once we got over the difference with the pictures, our stay was pleasant and comfortable. The central location was amazing and we had enough room for several more people. "

"Very nice house. Proximity to the JR Shin Koiwa station makes getting anywhere in Tokyo very easy. It’s about a ten minute walk. Host is excellent and communicates well. Very quiet neighborhood. If you can navigate the excellent Tokyo rail and subway system this is an excellent choice for your visit. I would not hesitate to book the Kanae House again. "

"Well equipped kitchen. Small space but very clean and functional. Enough space for a family of 5. Staff very helpful in shipping luggage to next destination. Convenient location to major stations. Lots of useful amenities such as toothbrushes and hair brushes."

"We liked that the room has a functional kitchen and a washer dryer. Although a 12 min walk to Ueno, it was flat. if one uses the Iriya Exit, it cuts a minute or two. Staff was courteous and professional. The downside, most properties that I’ve booked has 11 or 12nn check out time, this property has a 10am checkout. "

"This place was truly an amazing stay. It’s clean, quiet, safe, and nice. The rooms are small, don’t trust the images because they make the rooms seem a lot bigger, but they’re very nice. The best part is HOW CLOSE to the airport it is. It’s literally connected. And you’re always connected to a train station to take you anywhere. This was truly the best option for a hotel. I can not recommend them enough!"
