The area seems safe and there are restaurants and pattiseries within walking distance. Dinner at the hotel was a culinary experience. Be sure to purchase breakfast the next morning. "This is THE place to stay in Panama City... it's location, friendly accommodating staff, and the amenities are fantastic. The rooms were wonderful, clean and bright. We tried Tauro (steakhouse) and the Bazaar - they were both delicious and the service excellent. We literally partied like rock stars at their rooftop restaurant, and at the wonderful outdoor infinity pool as well. We will definitely be returning! "
