"Lovely staff who moved me to another room without fuss when my room smelt of new paint. Fabulous location and superb views from the restaurant and gardens. Generous coked breakfast and great staff here too. Some parts of the hotel were shut off due to refurbishment but this didn't affect my stay. "

"We had a spacious room perfect for our teenage children. We had one meal which was tasty and served quickly. Rather expensive restaurant. Our second night was blighted by another guests abusive behaviour towards his partner. Maybe staff should say no to customers when they have clearly had too much alcohol. "

"Great location on the edge of the town to walk the dogs to the beach and beyond. Breakfast nice, but pricey. Loved the dog showers/towels made available for when you get back from a muddy/sandy walk. Also, the free coffee and cake which was welcome after a long walk. Hotel was really warm, so had the window open most of the night which then subjects you to some road/seagull noise."

"Initially booked into room 7 ( annex) . Hadn't fully appreciated the access issues / stairs / downstairs toilet/ wardrobe. Staff were brilliant and moved to room 15 inside hotel immediately. Friendly staff , great food and only 1.5 miles from Whitby . ( Although Park and Ride does not start until Spring) . Would certainly book again ."

"Upon arrival no staff was to be seen, but was polite and showed us to our rooms. A few hazards on entry grates raised up on tile flooring at entry ( trip hazard) lift doesnt work. We was there two nights no fresh towels or bedding. Had to buy our own toilet roll. Cleaness needs a good clean over, walls had stains, carpets need a good clean. Overall was warm, comfy. Its a hotel that would have alot of potential or would benefit a good make over. Pictures arent a true image of the hotel people are...
