I came with a friend we had adjoining rooms which were very clean and comfortable with good facilities. "It is hard to start a review of the Montcalm without highlighting the location in the West End. As someone with a mobility impairment, it was a delight to be steps away from so many theaters (including those hosting Hadestown, Oliver, Fawlty Towers, and Les Miserables). On top of that, there are numerous affordable and tasty restaurants close by, including Vietnamese, Chinese, Brazilian, Japanese, steakhouses, and other ethnic cuisines. "Opulent and beautiful but yes dated. Doorman was slightly rude upon my arrival as if I didn't belong at the Ritz or something. But the service was outstanding and everyone was kind. There was an old smell in the hallways and stains on the rug. We would stay at a newer establishment next time."
