"The hotel was generally fine but could do with more maintenance and refurbishment. We had to change room as the flush of the toilet was broken and other areas are outdated. Also, be aware of the expensing parking charge, even for overnight guests. "

"Lovely stay in a very cozy, quaint hotel. Beds were comfy and it was very quiet. Staff all friendly and helpful. Only negative is the room was too hot. Good value for money "

"The rooms are on the small side and so are the bathrooms but the bed was very comfortable and had some nice touches. Tea and coffee and biscuits. The menu wasn’t great but what we had was quite good. "

"Marvellous place"

"Hotel generally fine, though we had a couple of negatives. 1- we chose the hotel in large part to make use of spa facilities, only to find that restricted hours in the holiday season meant this was not useable for us. 2- our room was part of an adjoining pair. At night a very loud couple of young men opened their adjoining door and continued being noisy. Thankfully, when I opened our door and asked them nicely if they could keep it down a bit, they did."

"Great location, friendly and helpful staff. We had a “cosy” room but it was big and lovely bathroom. My only complaint would be lack of power points. To use the kettle or coffee maker you had to go under the dressing table to swap the plugs and same to use the hairdryer. It was clean and very comfortable and a bonus we didn’t know about was you can walk straight into Burghley house grounds from the hotel. The breakfast was included and excellent. We chose the full English but plenty of options....
