"Even though this hotel is a bit outside of the downtown area it is fairly quiet from outside noise. It's about a 7-minute walk from an EDEKA and an ALDI and it's right off one of the subway stations (S4, I believe). The staff was also friendly and the rooms were clean. Since this place is a bit more isolated, no restaurants are nearby. Also, we were in Hamburg during the weekend, so it was a bit noisy in our room with people (and kids) stomping around on the floor above us. I think on any other...

"The room design is different, we liked it. We had a lovely garden view. We stayed on weeknights and the club/bar area was quiet. The days were very warm the last week of August, and the AC was adequate. Apparently most accommodations don't have AC, so we felt lucky. We walked everywhere from our hotel to see the sights. Train station close enough to walk, but Uber was easier! The location was ideal for us."

"We had a great stay at the Novotel Alster. It was our first visit to Hamburg. The hotel was clean and always smelt lovely. The staff were nice and everything requested was brought up straight away. The breakfast offering was fresh and lovely and I really liked the fresh lemon and ginger tea bar. You are on the door step of the under/overground which was fantastic and about 12 minutes away from the gorgeous town centre. I had no issues and look forward to coming and staying here again. "The hotel was very comfortable, well maintained and perfect for what I wanted. It is opposite the "DOM" amusement park which was in operation when I was there. It did not disturb me at all and I guess if you like that type of thing this is a very good location to be at. The hotel provides a great breakfast but at a price - 26euro. It does not serve evening meals so you need to buy in or go out. You are well served if you choose to go out locally but Hamburg has a lot of cool places to go in the...
