"The location was ideal for our purposes. The staff were helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our meals(evening meal and breakfast). The only complaints we had were that we struggled to get the tempersture of our room right - the weather was very cold- and the lighting in the restaurant was rather subdued making it difficult to read the menu!"

"We had a fabulous time at the palace hotel. The room was lovely and clean and it had a tremendous view of Buxton. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel,both were great, service and quality of the food. We will be back in June as we have booked tickets for a show at Buxton Opera House. I was unaware that the swimming pool has a charge of £6 and an extra £2 for a towel. This is not advertised anywhere on reception that I could seem"

"Fantastic staff who go above and beyond. Leisure facilities were wonderful and great to have a pool that the water temperature is so comfortable. Room was clean and beds so.comfortable, was amazed at how much space we had. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic with everything you could possibly want. My husband ordered poached eggs and they arrived perfectly cooked. Lovely colouring set and VIK token for the children where they could chose a small present was such a nice touch. "Beautiful lobby, but really old dated rooms which let it down. Breakfast was really good. The room itself didn’t match the high standards everywhere else. The toilet was in a separate room to the main bathroom, with no sink. The textured wallpaper in the room resembles the exterior walls of a 1980s house. Modernisation is definitely required. Couldn’t fault the location. Perfect for both the train station and the city centre "

"The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the city centre. It is modern well appointed. My room had everything l needed and l especially liked the shower in the bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good, all the staff were helpful and my poached eggs were cooked to order. I stayed for the England women’s football match and the hotel could not have been nearer the ground. I will definitely book again if l am in Sheffield."
